Anne Lister(1791-1840)
The first modern lesbian,a self-conscious lesbian in the psychological sense. She wrote a journal on her own life which written in a secret code with the combination of algebra and Greek. She insisted her love on Marianne and have a romantic relationship with her. When Marianne married a rich widower Charles, their relationship broke off. Anne depressed,devoted in her studies everyday to poison her feelings to Marianne. Marianne felt ashamed towards their relationship and angry at Anne who was drawing attention to herself. Anne disappointed. She wanted to be independent and intended to spend her life with a female companion. Finally she found Miss Ann Walker. They married and lived together.

However,There are some awkward moments in that movie actually..*Shame Shame*>.< But I truly admire her courage. Her courage to find her love, although it is not a conceivable relationship and not accepted by society at that time.
BTW, I wonder how she managed to write her diaries with all codess?? It's really amazing though. How nice if I could create my own's too.LOL
